Role

Lucky VR is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automation Team Lead Automation to join our dynamic team. As the Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the automation efforts within our development process, ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency in our game. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented professional to guide a team, contribute to cutting-edge virtual reality experiences, and shape the future of gaming. As the Automation team is in its inception, the role will be more hands-on at the beginning and will require more management as the team grows.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the automation strategy for our game development process, including test planning, design, execution, and reporting.
  • Guide and manage a team of automation engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as game designers, developers, technical artists and quality assurance, to understand project requirements and implement appropriate automation solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize and streamline existing automation processes, improving productivity and reducing time-to-market.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in automation frameworks, tools, and best practices, and proactively integrate them into our development pipeline.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of automated tests, ensuring coverage across various platforms, game features, and functionalities.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members, promoting code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to excel in their roles.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and track the effectiveness of automation efforts, providing regular reports and insights to management.

    Qualifications

    • Proven and solid experience working in a software development environment, with a focus on test automation.
    • Strong expertise in test automation frameworks, tools, and methodologies, particularly in the context of game development.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in game development, such as C# or Java.
    • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role, leading and guiding a team of automation engineers.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Familiarity with VR game development engines, such as Unity, and their associated testing frameworks.
